Arrival and First Night

We arrived on time in Resita yesterday afternoon. We passed easily through customs (thanks to Pastor Mihai's daughter Naomi, I think). We had a harrowing (for a couple of pedestrians and a bike rider) ride to the Hope Baptist where we had a wonderful dinner prepared by the ladies there. Those of us who are staying in ERBC's apartment got a short lesson in how all the appliances worked, and then we went to bed early.

Our schedule for Saturday is to meet at the church for breakfast at 9 a.m.
Have a meeting with the church staff at 10 a.m.
Do something (probably games, crafts, and puppets) with about 50 christian children from around the area from 12-2p.m.
A youth worship time at 5 p.m.

How to Pray: Please pray that we will adjust quickly to the time change (we are 7 hours ahead of EDT) and regain our energy and focus.

The weather: It was very cool (maybe 70F) when we arrived in Resita. Several of us pulled out jackets. We will all be very happy if it stays like this!

The food: For dinner Friday night we ate kind of a cole slaw and something like beef stew (except I'm not sure the meet was beef) with bananas for dessert. It was very tasty.

Things I noticed:
In Austria the computer keyboard had some of the letters in different places (e.g., the z and y are switched).

When you stop for a railroad crossing in Romania that's the cue for the drivers to get out and stretch. A train will eventually come, but it might still be 10 minutes away.
